- The Church In Ceramic: Urbania is a Kähler series of collectible ceramic tealight houses designed by Mette Bache and Barbara Bendix Becker. The Church draws from the Gothic ecclesiastical architecture of northern Europe: tall walls, a sharply peaked roofline, and rows of pointed arch windows that cover the facade from base to peak.
- Pointed Arches Cover Everything: The Church is white glazed ceramic, shaped as a tall narrow building with a sharply pointed roofline. Every visible surface carries rows of hand-carved pointed arch windows of varying sizes, arranged in tiers that cover the front and sides from the base up, leaving only the sharp peak of the roof uncut.
- A Towering Presence: At 7.1 inches tall and 3.9 inches wide, the Church is one of the taller pieces in the Urbania range, with a narrow footprint that takes up considerably less surface space than its height suggests, making it easy to place even in tight spots. Wipe clean with a damp cloth; the thin glaze needs no special care.
- Translucent When Lit: Set a tealight inside and the thin ceramic walls change character: the glaze becomes pale and luminous, and the rows of pointed arch windows cast their Gothic shapes onto the surrounding surface and wall. Because the Church stands taller than most other Urbania pieces, the light effect reaches further into the room.

The Urbania Tea Light collection from Danish design icon, Kahler, comprises tea light holders handmade into the shapes of various urban buildings (in this case, the Church). The candleholders are purchased individually, and may be combined into beautiful small cityscapes (see variations shown above). Each is handcrafted from Dolomite Ceramic. The deep white structures take their natural color from the clay that has simply been refined with a transparent glaze. The contemporary design of these tea light holders is born from collaboration between celebrated Danish designers Mette Bache and Barbara Bendix Becker. The Urbania series also includes three larger coordinating lanterns designed for regular candles (search for "Urbania Candle House"). It is Kahler's mission to create accessible art for the people.
