GD-Series solid carbide drills have a unique code key for determining the machining needs. Example: GD03-0300 is a GD = General-purpose twist drill, 03 = 3 x D or depth of drill. You can also have 05 = 5 x D or 5 times depth and 08 = 8 x D or 8 times depth. The letter C corresponds to internal coolant through holes, while no letter signifies common external cooling no holes. 0300 is the decimal nominal drill diameter which equals 3.0 mm. If the part number is followed with an S this equals slim shank. No letter signifies the drill meets DIN6535HA industry standards.
