- Made in Sanjo by 3rd-Generation Artisans - Handcrafted in Sanjo, Niigata, a town known since the 17th century for the skill of its blacksmiths and tool makers.
- Yasugi Specialty Steel - Made from Yasugi steel produced in Japan (Proterial, Shimane): impurities that dull an edge are removed, giving a fine, long-lasting cutting edge that is easy to resharpen.
- Size and Specs - 210 x 82 x 15 mm (8.3 x 3.2 x 0.6 in), 52 mm (2 in) blades, 148 g (5.2 oz), YCS3 alloy tool steel (YCS is a trademark of Proterial, Ltd.).
- Clean Cuts, Less Scarring - Sharp, sturdy blades sever wood fibers cleanly instead of crushing them, so cuts close faster and leave less scarring.
