The US Stove Vogelzang DR55 gallon drum is a closed head steel barrel, unpainted and suitable for use with any US Stove Company or Vogelzang barrel camp stove kit (BSK1000). Constructed of heavy duty steel for longer performance, with material thickness of 18 gauge on the top, 20 gauge on the body and 18 gauge on the bottom. The barrel camp stove is one of the most basic stove designs. The DR55 barrels have been used, cleaned and then bead blasted. The DR55 drums have not been painted so there may be small areas of surface rust that can easily be sanded out. Oils may be present on the surfaces that will need to be burned off during the initial use. The DR55 can be used with the BSK1000 model for a complete barrel camp stove kit. Creating a barrel stove is easy, just cut a hole for the door in the end of the barrel and cut a hole in the side for the flue, attach the legs, door and flue to the stove and add wood. Barrel paint and color finish may varya and are coated with a rust inhibitor. Painting the stove with a high temperature stove paint is recommended for the best looks.
