UNIOR Fork Star Nut Setter for Bicycle Headset Installation

UNIOR Fork Star Nut Setter for Bicycle Headset Installation

• CONTROLLED STAR NUT INSTALLATION: Designed to hold a compatible threadless headset star nut and drive it into a metal fork steerer in a controlled, centered manner. The dedicated tool provides a more reliable installation method than balancing the nut on a bolt or improvised punch, helping prevent angled placement and inconsistent insertion depth.
• CONSISTENT SETTING DEPTH: The tool’s stop and driving arrangement position the star nut at an appropriate depth below the top of the compatible steerer. Establishing consistent placement leaves room for the headset top-cap bolt to engage correctly and apply bearing preload during final cockpit and headset assembly.
• SUPPORTS STRAIGHT ALIGNMENT: A properly aligned star nut allows the top-cap bolt to thread smoothly and pull the headset assembly together evenly. The setter keeps the nut attached to the driving shaft during installation, helping the upper and lower flanges enter the steerer together instead of catching unevenly against the inside wall.
• FOR METAL STEERER TUBES: Intended for compatible steel or aluminum threadless fork steerers that use a conventional star nut. It should not be used to install a star nut in a carbon steerer, which generally requires a manufacturer-approved compression plug or expander system designed specifically for that fork.
• WORKSHOP HEADSET TOOL: Useful for new fork installation, steerer replacement, frame assembly, and correcting a damaged or improperly positioned star nut. The reusable tool provides bicycle shops and experienced home mechanics with a dedicated setup for completing threadless headset work efficiently and with repeatable results.
