Noting a recurring issue in their training, specifically related to front giants on uneven bars, he recognized the need to improve spatial perception and form consistency. In response, he devised the Porcupine Pad—a unique training tool equipped with soft bristles and wrap-around padding.
• Simple Yet Effective - The Porcupine Pad is a simple, yet incredibly effective, gymnastics equipment training tool that will help an athlete begin to feel exactly how far away their feet are from the low bar that way you prevent early piking.
• Multi-Use - It can be used to train front giants, back giants, glide swings and even strength training on the stall bar. Combine two porcupine pads to train straddle giants and straddle cast handsprings.
• Safety is a priority – Nobody like watching their athletes hit their feet on the bar while practicing bar skills. So, while the bristles give an early warning to the distance from the bar it also combines with a quality padding to protect your athlete in case, they do hit the bar.
• Two Modes - Use the longest length bristles (6-in long), for athletes who are just starting out, or for athletes who are the appropriate height for that length. Once the athlete is more comfortable, or more advanced in their technique, spin the pad to the shorter length bristle (3-in long) for an additional challenge.
