The Thomson super series ball bushing bearing pillow block has integral lip seals and a removable housing cap. The four-bolt ductile iron housing with single steel ball bearing insert provides ready-to-mount installation. The split housing with removable housing cap helps with mounting, inspection, and maintenance. The integral lip seals protect against contamination and help retain lubricant. The closed-type pillow block can be relubricated if necessary and is suitable for spanning or bridging a gap.

Mounted bearings combine a bearing mounted inside a housing unit. The bearing housing replaces the need for a casting or weldment to position the bearing securely for reliable operation, and its design determines the type of insert bearing. Insert bearings use rolling elements (ball, cylindrical, spherical, barrel, needle, spindled, or tapered) to maintain the separation between moving parts to reduce rotational friction, and to support radial and axial loads.
