The Moth and the Bear

Bear Demons. Enormous and terrifying monsters of legend, said to be dispatched by the gods of Kellabor to punish mortals who dare break the laws of the mountains. But for all their ferocity, it seems Bear Demons no longer haunt anything more than harmless children’s stories.

After her father’s mysterious disappearance, aspiring young blacksmith Kaelin Belka does her best to follow in his footsteps, but struggles to find harmony with the family that took her in. Just when it seems things are going right, more of the demons implicated in her father’s vanishment appear and take Kaelin as their prisoner.

Kaelin must keep her wits about her if she is to survive this frightening new world, where the lines between tradition and brutality blur, and her greatest defense might not be the hammer in her hand.
