The Kingston Trio, Dave Guard, Bob Shane and Nick Reynolds, burst onto the scene with their first hit single, "Tom Dooley" in 1958, and never looked back. Their unique blend of calypso, traditional folk, contemporary ballads and having a rollicking good time took the country by storm. Within a few short months, they were the number one singing group in America.
