The Forgotten War: A Pictorial History of World War II in Alaska and Northwestern Canada, Vol. 2

This is a continuation of the saga of World War II in Alaska and Northwestern Canada, as it was written in Volume 1. Over 500 photographs, maps and drawings portray American and Canadian soldiers, sailors and airmen not only as they battle Japanese forces in the Aleutians, but also harsh weather conditions in the wilds of the Yukon and Northwest Territories. This volume examines in depth the Canol oil line project, the bombing of Dutch Harbor, the numerous airfields and transportation facilities in Alaska and Canada used to wage war in this far flung theater of operations.
