- SPECIFICATIONS: High density felt material, 0.32-0.36 g/cm³ (539.4-606.8 lb/yd³). This material is the most durable SAE felt on the market and contains min. 95% wool fiber. F-1 Industrial Felt is firm and inflexible, moderate oil absorption and retention. This material also has excellent resistance to abrasion and wear.
- COLOR: Our industrial felt is 100% natural and undyed, therefore the material slight color variation will occur from lot to lot. F-1 Industrial felt will generally range from off-white to beige.
- INDUSTRIES SERVED: This material can be used in automotive, boating, jewelry, construction, cottage, interior design, printing, oil, music, farming and agriculture, gun and firearm, and machinery components.
- APPLICATIONS: Bass drum mallets, boat trailer felt, brake pads, car engine felt (low viscosity oils), cleaning roller wheels, collagraph printing blanket, door bumpers, elevator guides, high traffic rug, hydraulic press, low viscosity oil and friction gaskets, low viscosity oil wipers, organ and piano felt, polishing wheels, rug backing, sanding belt felt, vacuum tubing seal, window channels.
- HOW TO CUT: Industrial felt pieces that are less than 1/4" thick can be cut using a rotary blade. Thicker felt may require a fabric saw.
SAE F-1 felt is made of minimum 95% off-white wool and has a density of 0.32-0.36 g/cm3, and is best suited for applications where unusual strength and hardness are required and is good for oil retention. Common products made with F-1 felt include washers, wicks, door bumpers, polishing blocks and parts where wear and resistance to abrasion are required.
