All leather items can last for a lifetime if they are regularly maintained and treated well. Leather needs to clean and nourish helping to retain its durability and texture. Leather shoes should be polished and conditioned on a regular basis to preserve their life, if they¹re worn regularly. When cleaning leather never use strong detergents such as laundry detergent. Always choose a product that helps preserve the leather's natural lubricating oils rather than strip them away. Use leather cleaner such as saddle soap and a soft damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Then apply a leather care cream for nourishment. Using a soft cloth, rub the natural leather in a small, circular motion, helping to be absorbed. If scratches or other imperfections are apparent, condition with a cream formula that is one shade lighter than the actual color of the shoe.White Leather: Use plain soap and water. Mix a couple drops of liquid dish soap with warm water, and dip a soft cloth into it. Wring the excess water from the cloth, and gently rub the leather to remove any built-up grime and dirt. Spray a soft mist of hairspray lacquer on your leather item, and wipe it clean with a soft cloth. Be careful not to saturate the item with hairspray or to grind the hairspray into the leather. Always store footwear away from light and heat and protect them from rain and humidity. Stowing footwear stuffed with tissue and stored in its shoe box when not in use. If shoes become damp or wet do not use a heater or other source of heat to dry them. Stuff each shoe with an absorbent paper, such as newspaper or kitchen roll. Do not over stuff as this could cause stretching or shaping. Leave over night or until the footwear is dry. Avoid wearing the shoes again until they are full dry. We recommend using a shoe tree to protect the shape of the shoes."
