But as she's crossing a swollen river using an ancient set of stepping stones, disaster strikes, and Martha falls into the angry water.

Tall, dark, and extremely handsome, Vadim definitely has the potential to help Martha forget. But this isn't the twenty-first century, and medieval Erde is nothing like home!

The last thing his life needs are any complications of the female kind, but then he finds the strange young woman lying beside the river... Against his better judgment, and despite the warning in his heart, Vadim offers Martha his protection and vows to help her find her way home.
There's just one teensy little snag...
If she wants Vadim's help she's going to have to pretend to be his wife!

Unfortunately, until she's reunited with the twenty-first century again, Martha has no other option but to become Mrs. Vadim. And as if living the medieval dream wasn't bad enough, now she's having to avoid the evil Earl and his minions, too. 

But with Vadim's help, anything seems possible. Who knows? Given enough time, maybe - just maybe - she'll even learn to trust her heart again.
