THE FIRST STITCH (MAGGIE RILEY SERIES Book 1)

In THE FIRST STITCH, the first of the Maggie Riley three-book series, neighbor and knitting instructor extraordinaire Mrs. Swanson imparts the magic of knitting to best friends Maggie Riley and Becky Rose, both age 11. Mrs. Swanson tells the girls, “As you prepare to knit the first stitch, close your eyes and make a wish. Wish for something good – either for yourself or for someone else. For just as the first stitch sets all the other stitches in progress, the first wish opens the door to all the other wishes that are deep in your heart.”
She also tells the girls, “Knitting will help you solve mysteries. That's because there's an answer hidden in every stitch.”
Little do they know that, as sole witnesses to a crime, the girls are in grave danger, and Maggie will be forced to take Mrs. Swanson's words at face value if she is to save herself and Becky.
Gripping suspense appropriate for young readers ages 7 to 107 -- and for anyone who loves knitting.
