Spears 437-F Series PVC Pipe Fitting, Fabricated, Bushing, Schedule 40, 12" Spigot x 6" Socket

This Spears fabricated reducer bushing pipe fitting is made of schedule 40 PVC and has a spigot end connection and a socket end connection. This reducer bushing has one end smaller than the other for connecting two pipes with different diameters and end types. It has a male spigot connection on one end for fitting into a female unthreaded pipe and a female socket connection on the other end for sliding over the end of a male pipe. The spigot end has the same diameter as the pipe it connects to, minimizing turbulence and creating a tight seal, and the socket end connects to a pipe with a smooth bore for enhanced flow. This schedule 40 (standard wall) fitting is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for corrosion resistance, high strength, and less weight than fittings made from metal. It is compatible with schedule 40 PVC pipes and fittings. PVC can be connected to other materials such as steel, copper, or cast iron using transition fittings. This fitting provides superior flow to metal because of its smooth interior finish, which reduces friction and inhibits buildup of materials.
