DECK CONNECTOR: The 14 gauge DTT2 fastens easily to the wide face of a single or double 2x using included 2-1/2 inch Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws and accepts a 1/2"-diameter bolt or anchor bolt. DTT2 can be used to satisfy the IRC provision for a 1,500 lb. lateral load connection at two locations per deck.
BUILT FOR SAFETY: DTT tension ties are safe, cost-effective connectors designed to meet or exceed code requirements for deck construction. These versatile DTT connectors are also load-rated as a holdown for light-duty shear walls and braced-wall panel applications
DURABLE ZMAX COATING: DTT tension ties are finished with a ZMAX coating for durable protection in environments where connectors may be exposed to moisture or corrosive elements, making it ideal for outdoor or treated lumber applications.
EASY INSTALLATION: The DTT2 Deck Tension Tie installs easily with the Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws. Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws install best with a low-speed high-torque drill with a 38" hex-head driver.

Because the post is tied back into the deck joists, rather than to the rim joist alone, the connection is stronger than typical through-bolt installations. The DTT2Z is also ideal for guardrail-post connections and lateral-load connections between the deck and house.
