The Silver Valley Scandal Lamplight is handmade in North Idaho and gains its name from the saucy history of the region. The Silver Valley, located in the Coeur d'Alene Mountains, has been a world leader of silver, zinc and lead mining since the 1880's. In addition to mining, the Silver Valley was also known for its wild, raucous and numerous brothels. This lamplight was made from oak wood recovered from abandoned brothels around the region - Handcrafted and assembled in the USA - 5.5 foot vintage rayon cloth covered twisted wire cord with feed-through on/off switch - Natural wood tones - Original tool marks preserved - 40 Watt, 120 Volt Large Globe bulb with a beautiful hand-wound spiral filament included with lamplight purchase - Felt pads installed on the bottom to protect furniture - Small footprint allows for use in many household locations - Each finished lamplight is unique due to variations in the natural wood tones and weathering!
