• Uses an in-house developed 24-bit R-2R ladder DAC module, inspired by Shanling’s legacy models (e.g. PCM1704), for a more natural, analog-leaning sound.
• Strong output power: up to ~4.35 W into 32 Ω via the balanced 4.4 mm output, and about ~1.3 W via the 6.35 mm single-ended output, making it capable of driving quite demanding full-size headphones.
• Rich connectivity: USB-C (via XMOS XU316), optical (Toslink), coaxial SPDIF inputs; Bluetooth 5.2 (Qualcomm QCC5125) supporting LDAC, aptX Adaptive, etc.; plus both balanced and unbalanced headphone outs, and line/pre-out via RCA and 4.4 balanced.
• Tone shaping and modes: hardware controls for bass and treble are provided; also a NOS / OS switch (non-oversampling vs oversampling) to let listener adjust character.
• Good measurement specs for its class: frequency response of ~20-40 kHz (-0.5 dB), low distortion (THD+N ~0.02% @ 32Ω), signal-to-noise / dynamic-range ~118 dB, output impedance < 2 Ω.
