Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbucker - Neck - Nickel - Electric Guitar Pickup
Product Description
Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbucker - Neck - Nickel - Electric Guitar Pickup
- The original boutique vintage humbucker pickups to make your Les Paul look vintage and sound priceless. The Antiquity neck humbucker delivers an articulate, yet mellow tone that results from a perfectly balanced frequency response that combines a soft, sweet treble attack with a warm, full sounding low-end.
- The custom aged Alnico 2 bar magnet creates an airy openness to the top-end that gives chords clarity and articulation, while the vintage output coils really bring out the rich harmonic content. Single notes have a beautiful singing quality with just the right amount of treble emphasis.
- Staying true to the original Gibson P.A.F., these humbuckers are not wax potted, which takes you right to the edge of harmonic breakup. For that unmistakable vintage mojo, we wind every Antiquity humbucker on Seymour’s original Leesona winding machine from the early Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, MI.
- Handmade in Santa Barbara, California: Seymour Duncan takes pride in designing and crafting our products to create the most amazing sound possible. That starts with providing an environment that attracts and retains our great team of engineers, product designers and craftsmen, many of whom have been with the company for decades.
- DCR Neck: 7.70k, Magnet: Alnico 2, 1c Braided Shield Cable
The Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbuckers are made to look and sound like a well-worn '50s humbucker as originally designed by Seth E. Lover. The pickups are built to traditional standards. Each has its own character and DC resistance, just like the originals. The nickel silver cover and the poles are aged to give the player a pickup that looks like it's been played regularly for 40 years. The neck position model includes a front-tapered mounting ring and the screws that go with it.Like the neck position model, the bridge position humbucker is a faithful replica of the great sounding "patent applied for" humbuckers that Seth E. Lover designed in 1955. The bridge pickup is wound a little hotter and better balanced for its position. The mounting ring is slightly higher for the increased pickup height. Both pickups are not wax potted to retain the sound and appearance of the originals. Again, each pickup is built by hand in the "Antiquity" room and every magnet and bottom plate are signed to guarantee that you are getting an original Seymour W. Duncan Antiquity. Hookup wire includes the classic braided "push back" cloth braid wire.To some, this is craziness, intentionally creating an aged electrical component. But if you're like Seymour Duncan, and you appreciate the personal commitment and hand craftsmanship found in early electric guitars, then you'll want to capture that timeless beauty with an Antiquity pickup.
