The Tri-phosphor bulbs are designed for optimum performance with the Fulham Race Horse ballast. These are tuned for max output with the Bad Boy. Quantum T5 fluorescent fixtures use high efficiency, digital electronic ballasts to power the high output T5 fluorescent lamps. The BadBoy features a low profile and very low heat allowing it to be placed close to the tops of plants. Placing the BadBoy high output fluorescent fixture close to the tops of plants provides a very intense, bright light over the area. The large area of light dispersal coupled with the intense light is what makes T5 high output fluorescents very good for plant growth
