Tips on trimming your dog's nails:
If your dog's nails click when walking on hard floors, it's time for them to be trimmed. How often nails need trimming depends on the dog's activity level and what kinds of surfaces he or she typically goes walking on.

1. It's best to get your dog used to having their paws handled while he or she is still a puppy. If your dog seems to hate the whole idea of nail trimming, try giving him or her a relaxing foot massage once a day for a week or two.
