Norpro Ceramic Pie Bird
Product Description
Norpro Ceramic Pie Bird
- PREVENTS SOGGY CRUSTS & BOIL-OVERS: Vents excess steam directly out of double-crusted pies through its beak, stopping fruit fillings from boiling over and keeping top crusts flaky, crisp, and elevated.
- EASY TO USE BAKING FUNNEL: Simply place the ceramic bird in the center of the bottom crust, surround with fruit or meat filling, draped top crust over, and pinch crust so the beak pokes through.
- OVEN-SAFE CERAMIC CONSTRUCTION: Crafted from high-heat, food-safe ceramic designed to withstand high oven temperatures without cracking or absorbing odors and juices.
- WHIMSICAL VINTAGE DESIGN: Painted to resemble a classic blackbird, adding a charming, traditional touch to holiday fruit pies, chicken pot pies, and artisanal baked goods.
- COMPACT SIZE & EASY CARE: Measures 3.5" x 1.75" x 1.75" (9cm x 4.5cm x 4.5cm); pokes cleanly through pastry dough and cleans up easily (hand washing recommended).
Handy, useful, decorative and whimsical. A must have in any baker’s kitchen! Works effectively at venting double crusted pies. Simply place the bird in the center of pie and place filling and pastry top surrounding it. Bird releases steam through its mouth, allowing steam to escape from your pie, preventing bubbles and juices from boiling over and prevents a soggy pie crust. Made of oven safe ceramic. Hand washing recommended.
