- NiSi ND filter selects high quality neutral density glass and with precision polishing on both sides to make sure there is low color shift and high definition. The color of Resin material ND filter is easy to fade and there will be color shift. Moreover, resin material ND filter can't reach HD standard.
- The raw material of NiSi ND filter has been through a lot of tests. Firstly we will test the spectrum of each batch of material with Japan Shimadzu Spectrometer UV-2600.
- Usually photographers shoot the flowing water and beach.NiSi ND filter is multi-layer coated on both sides to avoid the filter getting corrosion .The AR coating will reduce glare. The waterproof coating will make the filter easy to clean and also can protect the filter from being scratched .
- For NiSi square ND filters , there are not only AR coating on the surface. We also added the anti-leaking sponge which is made from Japan fire-proof foam.The frame of NISI round ND filters is ultra slim which is only 3.5mm thickness. There will be without vignetting when shooting with the wide angle lens.
ND Filter
ND filter is short for neutral density filter. It's a filter that can reduce and modify the intensity of all wavelengths or color of light equally. The function of the this filter is to reduce the visible light at equal proportion, and won't change the brightness and color contrast of the scene. According to the production method, there are two types:neutral density glass and dyed resin. According to the filter's shape, there are 2 types:Round ND filter and Square ND filter.
Function of ND filter
1. When using ND filters in bright light environment, when using ND filter,we can enhance the subject and blur out the background through enlarging aperture and reducing the depth of field.
2. Low shutter speed photography: to express the motion of moving objects through long exposure time. For example:to make the flowing water looks like cloud/mist and to show the trace of flying cloud.
3. Eliminate the moving object in a scene. For example:to make the crowded street looks lonesome. In addition,using ND500(9 stops) or above ND filter can shoot solar eclipse.
How to avoid light leaking when use ND filters
Some light will get in through the viewfinder and stadia. A few light won¡¯t effect anything when taking pictures with fast shutter speed. But once the exposure time reaches dozens of seconds or several minutes, the light will have bad effect on the picture. We suggest to close the view finder. If cameras are without this, please cover it with a black cloth and same with the stadia .It will be better to take pictures by putting the camera in dark environment.
