The Nalgene bottles we offer are made from safe, non-leaching HDPE (#2) and LDPE (#4) plastics (not to be confused with polycarbonate #7). Nalgene bottles are reusable and 100% recyclable. According to the Container Recycling Institute, less than 15% of plastic water bottles in the U.S. are actually recycled. LDPE (#4) is flexible, impact-resistant and microwave-proof. Both plastics are dishwasher safe and able to withstand temperatures from -148 to 176° F (-100 to 80° C).
