The Motorola MWR839 Desktop Weather-Alert Radio provides early warnings to ensure you're prepared for whenever disaster strikes. With AM & FM weather radio, as well as the ability to connect external media devices, you'll never miss a beat. Specific Area Message Encoding (SAME) technology allows you to filter out emergency alerts outside of your county. When the SAME alert function is on, the radio will automatically play emergency weather/public alerts for your local area. There are 76 types of alerts, including weather related alerts, civil emergencies, hazards and child abduction alerts. Plus, you can disable alerts that you prefer not to receive.
