• REMOTE TEMPERATURE SENSOR: Morningstar's Remote Temperature Sensor (RTS) provides improved battery charging in solar systems that experience temperature variations during the year. It measures temperature at the battery and the controller uses this data for very accurate temperature compensation.
• HIGH ACCURACY: This sensor is essential when the battery temperature differs by more than 5°C (9°F) from the controller, ensuring accurate temperature compensation for improved battery charging. Provides precise temperature readings maintaining reliable performance across a wide temperature range.
• DURABLE & PROTECTION: For defense against harsh environments, the sensor is securely encapsulated in epoxy within a robust power lug housing. This durable construction protects against lightning surges and short circuits for long-lasting performance and reliability in the most challenging conditions.
• CONTROLLER COMPATIBILITY: The RTS is compatible with various Morningstar models including SunSaver MPPT, TriStar MPPT, SunKeeper, SunSaver Duo, and ProStar. The TriStar has no on-board temperature compensation thus requiring the use of the RTS. Other Morningstar controllers will default to an on-board temperature sensor if a RTS is not connected.
