Moocher Plus

Featuring a Dartainium Drag and a new Metal Palming Ring, the Moocher GTPA gives you a smooth and powerful platform designed for comfort and fishability. Salmon, trout, and walleye anglers will enjoy this unique non-casting approach for drop-fishing ("mooching") in current, Detroit River-style pole-lining, downrigging or flatline trolling. The Shimano Moocher Plus GT Reel is a direct-drive reel that rides under the rod like a fly reel, but there the similarity ends. Its large-capacity spool and quality internals can handle mono, fluoro, or braid with equal ease; it's geared for absolute power, with a waterproof Dartainium drag that engages only when the handle is not being turned-so you fight the fish, not the drag. Made tough all-around, with a graphite frame and spool, sturdy metal palming ring, and non-slipping rubber handle grips.
