Moanin Low

Libby Holman was the femme fatale of the '20s and '30s; her stage act was so sultry - and her private life so tempestuous - that she actually gained the nickname ''The Dark Purple Menace!'' This 20-track collection, the first of its kind, includes Brunswick and Victor tracks drawn from when her torch was at its brightest on Broadway; songs include Can't We Be Friends?; Moanin' Low; Body and Soul; Something to Remember You By; Find Me a Primitive Man; I'm One of God's Children; You and the Night and the Music, and more. She sounds like early Fannie Brice, but with a much more powerful voice!
