METAL SHIELD THE ONLY RUST PREVENTATIVE, INSULATING UNDER COATING ON THE MARKET METAL SHIELD is a rust preventive, heat insulating; soundproofing concentrate that contains a blend of Hy-Tech's ceramic insulating microspheres and an industry standard setting anti-corrosion compound. By combining the thermal and soundproofing properties of the insulating ceramic microspheres, and a time tested rust preventative concentrate you can now not only protect your Automobile, Truck or RV from rust but also gain the additional soundproofing and heat resisting properties of Hy-Tech Insulating Ceramic Microspheres. METAL SHIELD is a single component product that displaces moisture and does not lift existing coatings. It will bond to ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The base resin is highly corrosion resistant providing several thousand hours of salt fog resistance. Surface Preparation: Remove pack rust, loose coating and other foreign matter, making sure the surface is free of dirt, oil and grease. Application: Apply coating at a rate of 5-6 mils wet. Let flash dry for 2 hours then apply a second coat at 10 mils wet. Equipment: Airless spray - 30:1 Graco Bulldog with 3/8" I.D. high pressure line and a Graco silver gun with a .021-.024 spray tip. Conventional spray - Use a DV-MBC gun or equivalent with a D fluid nozzle and a 64 air cap. * Note - Brush and roller application can also be used. Coverage: 150 square feet at 8 mils DFT. Thinning: No thinning is recommended but use mineral spirits if necessary. Mixing: Mix by hand. Drying times @ 75oF Dust free -- 60 minutes. Firm -- 48 hours or more. (Depending on the humidity and temp.) Recoat ability -- No maximum. Clean Up: Clean equipment with mineral spirits. Topcoats: Not required and not recommended. SHOULD A TOP COAT BE NECESSARY YOU MUST WAIT A MINIMUM OF 45 DAYS BEFORE TOP COATING.
