Medieval Coat of Arms Eagle Crest Shield

In heraldry eagles are often said to indicate that the armiger was courageous, a man of action and judicious. Where an eagle's wings were spread ("displayed") it was said to indicate the bearer's role as a protector. The eagle with its keen eyes symbolized perspicacity, courage, strength and immortality, but is also considered "king of the skies" and messenger of the highest Gods. This beautiful medieval shield is constructed of stainless steel with a crackle finished that has been darkened around the edges. The eagle displayed is black with red detailing. The base, dexter chief, and sinister chief have golden detailing. To display this piece there is a suede leather hanger and a steel handle in the back to hold on to your shield or it can be used to hold a broad sword for a nice display on your wall.
