Symptoms of fault: Door lock jumping up and down quickly, door not locking or only periodically, door lock rattles. The problem: A spring within the door lock actuator mechanism snaps causing the locking faults. It is a common fault on these vehicles for a small spring within the door lock actuator to snap causing the symptoms noted. The original spring within the mechanism is very thinly wound and is constructed from a poor quality steel which will inevitably corrode and the spring will snap. The solution: Our replacement improved design / material springs allow you to repair the actuator. Made from high quality Stainless Steel (will not deteriorate over time like springs offered by some others) our improved design thicker wound springs will restore your lock and will not deteriorate over time like the OEM part does, save the cost of a replacement actuator that will just fail again.
