Lladro Mary Porcelain Figurine

An essential piece in a Christmas nativity scene, the Mary figurine from Lladro is a beautiful interpretation of the mother of Jesus gazing upon him in his first hours as an infant. Crafted from premium porcelain, the piece features Mary kneeling, her face turned down and her hands at her breast, a perfect pose for placement beside Lladro’s coordinating infant Jesus. The details of the piece make it a rich piece for study on its own, especially the intricate hem of Mary’s cloak and the serenity of her hands and face. Painted in Lladro’s classic pastel palette, the figurine stands 7 inches high, was created by sculptor Juan Huerta, and first became available in 1988.

Founded by a trio of Spanish brothers in 1953, Lladro is known the world over for superb craftsmanship and timeless images. Designed by artists and created by skilled artisans, each piece is fashioned in the company’s City of Porcelain workshops in Valencia. Perfect gifts and favorites with collectors, Lladro sculptures make treasured additions to the home and are sure to become heirlooms over the years.
