Clavecin Francais

The first disc in the series ' Le Clavecin Francais', performed on the 1707 Nicolas Dumont harpsichord by Davitt Moroney, brings together the complete works of two of the finest composers of French keyboard music, Louis Marchand and Louis-Nicolas Clerambault. This recording features music belonging to the middle period of French keyboard music, spanning the gap between the First School of French harpsichordists (Jacques Champion de Chambonnieres, Louis Couperin and Henry d Anglebert) and the later style epitomized by François Couperin.
