KOKODA-Into the Mouth of Hell

It is 1941 and Australian Forces are fighting the Germans overseas.A new threat in the form of a militaristic Japan threatens security in the Pacific from the Phillipines to New Guinea, an Australian Protectorate. Fears that the Japanese may invade New Guinea to isolate Australia from her Allies grows and the Government responds by sending a newly formed Citizens Militia, the 39th Battalion from Victoria and the 53rd from New South Wales to Port Moresby to act as a deterrent .They were indifferently trained and poorly armed, derisively called Chocos by members of the AIF, Australia's formal army. The worst happens on December 7th when the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbour and suddenly Australia is at war with the Empire of Japan. As feared, Japanese forces invade South East Asia and New Guinea and the Militias are the only thing that stand between them and Port Moresby along the hell that was the Kokoda Track. Two of thousands soldiers involved in this fight are a Australian Corporal and a Japanese Lieutenant who find themselves in a very personal war.
