The value of differential feed adjustment – This dial will greatly help to minimize any puckering or stretching that could occur on other sergers with tricky fabrics. Two feed dogs are used in this system; one feeds the appropriate amount of fabric for the setting on the stitch length dial and the other pulls or pushed the fabric according to the ratio set on the differential feed dial. Puckered edges on woven fabrics are prevented by setting the differential feed dial between 0.5 and 1.0. Stretched edges on knit fabrics are prevented by setting the differential feed dial between 1.0 and 2.25.
