This tin of spicy harissa paste is imported from Tunisia. Harissa is a blend of hot chile peppers, garlic, coriander, and caraway seeds. This chile paste is not extremely hot, so it adds a nice garlicky flavor without overwhelming the other ingredients in a dish. Traditionally, harissa would be mixed with oil to make a loose hot sauce to season couscous and tagines. This product can also be rubbed onto pork or chicken as a marinade before roasting or grilling, or spread a dab on your favorite sandwich.
