"Panels" identify how TALL your door is by counting the sections of the door from bottom to top where they separate as the door rolls up. Each solid section between gaps is a single "panel". Count all of them to identify your total panels. Identify the WIDTH of your garage. Kits are designed with specific spring strengths based on how WIDE the door is. 1-car garage vs. 2 car garages. 1-car garages are UNDER 12 feet wide. 2-car (with one door) garages are 12 feet up to 20 feet wide.
• ***All Heavy Duty Commercial / Industrial doors should use the "2-Car Wide" version (with Gold Springs) of your panel count regardless of actual door width due to the extra weight of the door.
• *** DO NOT TRY TO SPLIT A "KIT" BETWEEN TWO OR MORE DOORS (it won't work) - Hinges are not all created the same. Each one is NUMBERED for its specific location on your garage door as the gap between the door and vertical track increases as you get higher on the door. So, you CANNOT use a 7-panel kit between two 4-panel doors.

It is advised to apply a vinyl strip to the door stop to allow the wood door to slide better. The Green Hinges are 7.5" long and 3.25" wide with 4 vertical bolt holes to secure it to the door. It can replace some square hinges that use 4 bolts as long as they are not "pinch proof" versions. The Green Hinges are made for standard 7/16" roller shafts used in most applications.
