Global Crafts Felt Trivet Large - Wool Ball Trivet for Hot Dishes, Holiday

• FESTIVE WOOL BALL SQUARE: A large square trivet in red, green and white felted wool balls, built to carry seasonal color while a casserole, teapot or roasting dish sits on top of it. Handmade in Nepal by women artisans, it reads as decor and as function at the same time on a crowded holiday table. The square format also lines up neatly with a rectangular table.
• FINE WOOL AND SAFE DYES: Made from high-quality New Zealand wool colored with azo-free dyes, then felted through the traditional sequence of rolling, scrubbing and layering the fibers by hand. The result is a durable, heat-resistant mat with the density that only hand-felted wool gives, and a surface unlike any other piece. The red, green and white are dyed into the fiber itself.
• LARGE 14 IN SQUARE: At 14 in x 12 in x 1 in this is a genuinely large trivet, with room for a full baking dish or several smaller serving bowls together, yet it weighs only 0.5 lb and lifts with one hand. Spot clean only, which is what keeps the felted surface intact through seasons of repeated use. That size also lets it serve as a centerpiece base year to year.
• CHRISTMAS TABLE CENTERPIECE: The red, green and white palette anchors a holiday spread, and once the meal is cleared it works as a base for candles, greenery or a bowl in the middle of the table. A festive gift for the person who hosts Christmas dinner every single year and never asks for anything. It stores flat with the seasonal linens for the rest of the year.
• WOMEN-LED FAIR TRADE MAKERS: Each trivet comes from women-led artisan co-ops in Nepal working under fair trade practices, with sustainable income and safe working conditions built into the process rather than added afterwards. Global Crafts belongs to the Fair Trade Federation, which sets that bar. The women who rolled these balls are the ones paid for them.
