Global Crafts Felt Coasters Set of 4 - Wool Ball Drink Coasters, Grey

Global Crafts Felt Coasters Set of 4 - Wool Ball Drink Coasters, Grey

• MIXED GREY FELT DISCS: A set of 4 round coasters in a mix of grey tones, handcrafted from dense felted wool by artisans in Nepal. The blend of shades across the set gives it a homespun, collected look, and the thick felt sits flat on a table instead of curling up at the edges the way thin cork or paper can. Every disc is finished by hand, so no two greys read exactly the same.
• LAYERS OF PRESSED WOOL: Each coaster is built from layers of wool pressed together with soap and warm water until the fibers mat into a durable, non-woven fabric. Azo-free dyes give the greys their depth, and the resulting material is soft, absorbent and hard-wearing in daily use at a dining table, a desk or a bedside.
• FOUR INCHES ACROSS: The coasters measure about 4 in in diameter and 0.5 in thick, with up to 0.25 in of variation between pieces because they are made by hand rather than die cut. The complete set of four weighs roughly 0.5 lb. Clean with soap and water when they need it; these coasters are not dishwasher safe. The whole set is light enough to lift with one hand and store in a drawer.
• MODERN AND HOMESPUN DECOR: Mixed greys sit quietly under a mug on a wooden table and just as easily on a stone counter or a desk, which makes the set useful in almost any room of the house. Practical enough for daily use and tidy enough to bring out when guests arrive, they also make a neutral, easy housewarming gift. Four coasters cover a small table or a pair of side tables without looking fussy.
• SKILLED ARTISANS IN NEPAL: This set is made by skilled artisans in Nepal under fair trade practices that support women's work and the communities around them, and Global Crafts backs that up with its Fair Trade Federation membership. Buying a set helps keep traditional wool felting a living, paid craft rather than a museum piece.
