• UNIQUE JEWEL SHAPE THAT STAYS PUT: Unlike round ceramic pie weights, pie beans or baking marbles, our faceted borosilicate glass weights don't roll off the counter or out of the crust, so they are easier to handle – and they sparkle like jewels.
• NO DUST, NO ODORS, NOTHING IN YOUR PASTRY: Ceramic baking beads shed dust and dried beans pick up smells. Borosilicate glass – the same material as glass pie dishes – is non-porous, dust-free, easy to clean and will not retain odors.
• HEAT-SAFE TO 600°F (315°C), REUSABLE FOR YEARS: Oven-, freezer- and food-safe glass that does not degrade with repeated use. Hand-wash in warm, soapy water, or run them through the dishwasher in a mesh bag or lidded container, then store them in the drawstring bag.
• HOW TO BLIND-BAKE: Line the pastry with parchment paper or foil, pour in the weights right up to the rim, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes or as your recipe directs. The result is a flat, flaky crust – no puffing, bubbling or shrinking.
• ONE 2.5 LB BAG FILLS A 9 OR 10 INCH PAN: Enough glass to weigh the crust down all the way to the edge of a standard 9 or 10 inch pie or tart pan. For a 9.5 inch deep-dish or a tall tart ring, use two bags.
