• SWEET, SPICY & SMOKY: Achiote paste has a fairly mild flavor. It is earthy and nutty thanks to a special array of spices and herbs. The heat level of our Premium Achiote paste is moderate to mild. It also has sweet and peppery undertones.
• EXQUISITE BLEND: Our gourmet Achiote Paste is a blend of annatto seeds, vinegar and a unique spice combination. It adds an earthy, somewhat sweet and spicy, slightly smoky flavor and can be used as a sauce, marinade, or rub for meat, chicken, and fish.
• PERFECT FOR: Latin dishes that require an infusion of color and brightness, or acidic flavors. Great in grilled chicken, pastor-style tacos, shredded pork sandwiches, cochinita pibil, and many other dishes. The paste can also be added to empanada and tamale dough for color and flavor.
