• PASSAGE MODE: Press the passage button and the door simply stops locking. it will not latch shut on anyone. The setting holds until you press it again, and an indicator light on the inside shows which mode is live.
• PRIVACY MODE, FROM THE INSIDE — You are in the room and you would rather not be walked in on. Press the privacy button: from that moment only you and the mechanical key can open this door. Nap, change, take the call, get the work done. The voice prompt can be muted or turned down in the app, so nothing announces itself through the wall. Press again when you are done.
• PRIVACY MODE, FROM THE OUTSIDE — Normally every fingerprint you have registered opens this door: up to 100 of fingerprints, plus 1,000 app users, each on the schedule you set. If press the privacy button, pull the door shut, and that all stops — only the admin fingerprint and the mechanical key get in, and every other users are locked out until you switch it back. That is what turns a pantry, a liquor or medicine cupboard, or a guest room between guests into a room only you can enter.
• A KNOB, WITH A REASON: Round knobs are the one shape dogs and small children have real trouble turning, unlike a lever they can push down or lean on; your own fingerprint reads from a normal grip. It replaces most standard U.S. ball door knobs using the holes already in the door: no drilling, about 5 minutes, reversible for left- or right-handed doors. Fits interior doors 1.2-2.56 in (30-70mm) thick, adjustable backset 2.36 / 2.76 in.
• NO LOCKSMITH, NO LOCKOUT: 4 AAA batteries (not included) run up to 12 months depending on use, with a low-battery reminder in the app. If they ever run flat there is a USB emergency power port, and 2 mechanical keys come in the box. Whichever mode the lock is in, the key is always the way back in.
