• Will it fit my current jar? The Krautkeeper is designed for containers with an inner diameter of approximately 6.33 in. If your jar or crock’s inner diameter is larger, it will not fit. While this size is common in gallon-sized jars, there is no “universal” gallon jar—“gallon” simply refers to the volume the container holds, not the jar’s diameter. If you're unsure, use the reference image and measure your jar to ensure it’s not over 6.33 inches in diameter before purchasing, or pair it with a Fermentaholics gallon jar.
