• Intake VVT Solenoid, 2-Pin, 4.6L/5.4L 3V (Not 2V, Not 4V Modular)​ Direct aftermarket replacement for Ford 3V Modular VVT oil control valves. Replaces 8L3Z-6M280-B, 8L3Z-6M280-A, 3L3Z-6M280-EA​ and crosses 917-200, VVT101, VTS1004, 2T1010, L53001. 2-pin connector, M6 mount, OEM oil-port profile—match old unit stamp before ordering. This is the INTAKE-side solenoid; 3V engines use one per bank (LH+RH).

• 3V Only — NOT 2V (pre-2005) and NOT 4V DOHC (Cobra/GT/GT500)​ Critical:​ 8L3Z-6M280-B fits 3-valve SOHC​ Modular V8s only. It does NOT​ fit 2V SOHC 4.6L (pre-2005 cars/trucks, uses different solenoid body), nor 4V DOHC 4.6L (Cobra/Mach 1) or 5.4L 4V (GT500/SVT). Verify your valve cover has 3 coils per bank​ and engine code confirms 3V before ordering.
• Fixes P0016 / P0022 / P0340 & Rough Cold Start on 3V​ Resolves cam/crank correlation codes, P0340 cam sensor circuit, rough cold idle, and the classic "cold start rattle" on high-mileage 3V engines. New coil winding, viton seal, and spring-loaded spool restore correct oil-flow timing. 3V phasers are hard on solenoids—replace both bank solenoids together at ~150K miles.
• 10-Minute Bolt-On, Clear Codes After Install​ Disconnect battery, unplug 2-pin, remove M6 bolt (8mm), lift old solenoid, clean mating face, seat new with OE O-ring, torque to 8 ft-lb. No PCM relearn on most 3V; clear P001x/P034x with any scanner. Use Motorcraft 5W-20 and change oil/filter—sludge in galley is the real killer on these engines.
