As the man who originally fused Creole-Cajun music and R&B into a new form of music, Clifton Chenier deserved the title "King of Zydeco." When Chenier died in 1987, Rockin' Dopsie assumed the crown, and when Dopsie died in 1993, the question was, who would next take the throne? Boozoo, That's Who! is the answer, as this Lake Charles, Louisiana, veteran boils down the zydeco sound to a hypnotic accordion riff, a sing-along chant, and a stomping two-step beat. --Geoffrey Himes
