Boat Builder's Incredible 20 ft Shipping Container Home: Concepts for shippable container-based homes, offices, workshops or studios

Moving home takes on a different meaning when your home uses shipping container modules and can literally be closed up, picked up and moved with your belongings to anywhere in the world.

In this book, the author shows how his home - constructed using specialised, certified, shipping containers - was made in such a way that it remains shippable as a standard container anywhere worldwide. It is fitted out as a comfortable and practical, self-contained home, and is designed so that it can be extended in stages to a three bedroom dwelling while still remaining shippable. It includes:

• Various designs and techniques used to create the author's home
• Stages from a single person dwelling to a three bedroom home
• Details of construction methods and materials
• Concepts for an affordable home and a spacious administration centre or office

All designs retain the integrity of the shipping containers, allowing them to be transported anywhere in the world.

“A 20ft shipping container can be a challenging space to work with when constructing a home. Thankfully, with years of experience building super-yachts and racing boats, shipwright Evans is no stranger to working in small spaces and when it came to building his own home he has done a truly spectacular job of, quite literally, thinking inside the box."

- Bryce Langston, creator and host of the popular YouTube series, Living Big in a Tiny House.
