Biblical Wisdom For a Digital Age

This gem of a book offers 50 carefully chosen biblical phrases or proverbs, which capture familiar sayings and essential teachings of the Christian faith. Each phrase is accompanied by a short reflection, questions to ponder, and suggestions for personal devotion or meaningful interaction and conversation between household members, groups of teens or in multi-generational small groups. In a digital age of “sound bytes,” short attention spans, and busy, overflowing lives, this offering of 50 meditations is an effective tool for teaching and sharing God’s word and providing light and practical insight for daily lives. One may just turn to a page- any page – and be given a meaningful “sound byte” (biblical phrase) to reflect upon for the day. The author, Dave Ellingson, says of himself in one of the daily meditations, “That’s part of my personality. I am not cautious; I go ‘all in.”’ This trait is evident in Biblical Wisdom for A Digital Age. Dave has poured his heart, soul, mind and life experiences into the words and personal stories that grace each page. For use at church or home, on the road or at a retreat, Dave’s proverbial wisdom along with words from scripture will trigger one’s own stories and the further nurturing of one’s faith in a fast-paced world.
