Ampersand Aquabord | 8x8 | 2" Cradled | Watercolor & Gouache Panel
Product Description
Ampersand Aquabord | 8x8 | 2" Cradled | Watercolor & Gouache Panel
- Amazing Watercolor Painting Surface: The textured, highly absorbent clay and mineral ground provides a watercolor painting experience similar to cold-press watercolor paper while supporting vibrant color, smooth layering, and excellent control.
- Build Layers and Lift with Confidence: Create endless glazes, add depth, and lift color back to white for highlights and adjustments. The durable watercolor surface withstands reworking without the tearing or pilling that can happen with paper.
- Stays Flat: The rigid Hardbord watercolor panel remains perfectly flat under heavy water application. Paint directly on the board without stretching, mounting, or taping—ideal for studio work or plein air watercolor painting.
- Display Without Glass: Unlike traditional watercolor paper, once sealed, Aquabord allows artists to display their watercolor or gouache artwork without glass, eliminating glare and giving the work a modern, professional gallery-style presentation.
- Handcrafted in the USA: Made in our Texas facility with FSC-certified materials and protected with Archiva-Seal, Aquabord reflects over 30 years of Ampersand’s commitment to durable, archival, artist-safe painting panels trusted by professionals, educators, and hobbyists.
AMPERSAND ART SUPPLY AQUABORD - Aquabord is a clay coated hardboard panel that gives watercolorists unprecedented freedom and control. Comparable to watercolor paper, this multimedia panel simulates the absorbency and texture of cold pressed but allosso or paint.
