Abibifahodie!: Meekamui (Volume 1)

Angela Freeman’s “Abibifahodie! Series” examines various revolutionary strategies used in Afrikan rebellions worldwide. This series combats the “Afrikan people can’t win” myth, which Black children are constantly inundated with through mainstream media outlets. The lessons learned provide motivation and address many dilemmas affecting the Black community in America. Abibifahodie: Volume 1 explores the battle in Meekamui (Bougainville) which began as a result of severe exploitation and damage to the environment. As with all Angela Freeman Books, this is for adults and children to read together. Doing so strengthens dialogue between the generations. Children tend to ask many questions during and after reading this book. Capitalize on that thirst for knowledge. Encourage them to think critically and find answers. Encourage them to win.
