A Different Diamond (Softball Star)

A Different Diamond is part of the Softball Star series, inspiring sports books for preteens about girls who love playing softball and baseball.

Brooke Conrad is on top of the world. She is the star shortstop for her high school's softball team, and it is one of the best teams in the state. But everything changes when the shortstop for her school's baseball team gets kicked out of school, and the baseball coach asks Brooke to take his place for the season. Brooke has never heard of anything so ridiculous - a girl playing on a baseball team, with boys? Can it even be done? She agrees to do it, but instantly questions whether she made the right decision. The boys don't want her on the team and she doubts she's good enough to play baseball at all. But she doesn't give up and she decides she needs to prove something. She needs to prove she is good enough to play baseball - to her dad, to the boys, and most importantly, to herself.

All of the books in the Softball Star series are standalone stories that may be read in any order, suitable for ages 12 and up.
